Automated Ship Monitoring
The goal of this project is to demonstrate that COTS and Open Source Data Mining and Expert Systems can reduce operator workload by cost effectively extracting knowledge from Sensor Rich systems. In this effort we are using data from the Total Ship Monitoring System (TSMS) to demonstrate the concept.
PSI has a test system up and running that is extracting knowledge from TSMS sensor data and converting that knowledge to expert system rules. We are in the process of demonstrating the technique's robustness by applying rules developed on one ship platform to a different platform.
